Description:

The balcony of the cloisters of the Museo de Santa Cruz in Toledo Spain was quiet and peaceful on a windy winter afternoon. From the benches on the balcony you can view the lovely central cloister gardens and also the towering Alcazar in the background. The museum is located only a few steps from the main square in Toledo, the Plaza de Zocodover. It is a combination of Gothic and Spanish Renaissance styles of architecture. The cloisters are only part of the attractions, as the museum has a collection of about 15 El Greco paintings (the most famous of which is the Asuncion de la Virgen), and a 15th century Tapestry of the Astrolabes. It also houses an exhibit of tiles and ceramics, and may be the only place in Spain where you can compare regional differences in tile work and pottery. All this at no cost!
