Description:

I used to call this image "End of Tunnel". To me, "Passage to Light" seems much more optomistic, which is what this picture is all about. It's about change and successful endings, about overcoming obstacles and emerging into a new day. You can almost imagine that you see a painter's brush strokes as dark turns into light. But this is a photograph. The painterly effect is a result of the blur caused by a slow shutter speed with the camera mounted on a moving car. For the record, this tunnel is in Los Angeles, California, USA. It is a much photographed tunnel.
