Excellent abstract work Roy, always been fascinated by the Orion Constellation since I was a kid, A very dominant feature in our part of the world. Well done, and all the best for 2014!. Michael L/F

Roy Erickson replied:

Thank you Michael. Orion seems to catch a lot of attention - the pyramids seemed to be built towards it, and if you ever read James Michner's "Hawaii", they sailed towards the the "three in a row" of Orion's belt.

Outstanding work, I've been delving into digital art/painting recently, I think in a program not necessarily designed for it but I'm having fun with it anyway! I do particularly like this work, fascinating...fvp

Roy Erickson replied:

Thank you Melissa. yes - I don't think the program I'm using was meant to do this - but it's been a fun time and sometimes the creation works.

Wow this is state of the art. I have always wanted to try this but do not know how to bebin. I start trying to layer in my photo shop and with no help I am lost. Reading up in it does not do the thing either. First off I am lost when they talk about layering. Darn I would like to take some class or something.

Roy Erickson replied:

Thank you Selma. I don't use photo shop but an old photomanipulation program (PhotoPlus2 from Serif). I am "self taught" and I keep learning new things as I wander through their program. Not only is it layering, but it's manipulating, slicing, dicing, twisting, turning, deleting on each layer. and sometimes my computer memory - nor mine either - has enough memory. This image is perhaps 14 or 15 layers deep - with the original background deleted.

I'm not usually one for abstract, even though I have one or two myself, but this really caught my attention. Amazing colours and 3D effect. I love your imagination. Well done! F/v.
