This is a great shot, from the smoke rising up, to the lady looking like she can't wait a moment longer to the little girl with her cute hat.. I also like that the people waiting are separated in the image with the ones cooking by that post... just seems appropriate!

Pete Edmunds replied:

Thanks for your kind words Maggie!

Returned to admire and pin this wonderful image Pete

Pete Edmunds replied:

thanks so much Denise!

Pete, nice shot...I was drawn in by the smoke too.

Pete Edmunds replied:

Thanks so much Joe!

Revisiting this image that I like so much to congratulate you on your 2nd place win in the recent Candid Photography - Interiors - Public Spaces contest.

Fantastic expressions - she's probably reading a menu and deciding on something, but she looks positively exasperated with the wait. Well told story here. his is my pick for CAT in the MOUSE group for June 2.

Love this ...can smell the burgers, feel the heat from the grill and the cold in the queue ..truly a moment is time. l/f

Pete Edmunds replied:

Thanks for your wonderful comments Denise

the atmosphere is wonderful! andd very interesting scene and expression Pete!

Congratulations on your feature in Images of Europe on Fine Art America!

wow ... patience.. a virtue not everyone has :) This image shows it in the lady's eyes :) Very well done!!

Thanks so much Dee!

Great capture and very engaging. As I study I see and find the woman looking up and wonder what she is looking at.

Pete Edmunds replied:

Hi Dee - She is looking up at the prices of the food on the board above. What amused me when I looked again is that the lady with the animal hat is looking at the food but the face on her hat is looking up at the prices :)

thanks so much Fei!

Fabulous !!!

Thanks, Jeff, for the feature in Pleasing the Eye

An excellent capture. v

Pete Edmunds replied:

Thank you Gary :)

Wonderful atmosphere! Can almost smell all that cooking. Such a variety of expressions - great capture! Congrat on your Features. Liked

Pete Edmunds replied:

Thanks so much Carol

Hi Pete love street photography I will put some up soon but you caught the atmosphere brilliantly L

Loved it too Pete, thank you for responding. :-)

Curios, for me the thumbnail did not show the second cook and I like this better Pete. :-) he stand up a little too much....Love to hear your response.

Pete Edmunds replied:

I see what you mean. For me the second cook is important - otherwise the space to the right of the centre pillar would be too narrow. I liked the feeling of two teams - one on left and one on right of the pillar. There's also a feeling that the cooks as shown better represent the multicultural nature of this city - I like his tied-back dreadlocks. Its great to have a discussion :)

Beautiful scene, the atmosphere is of patience and patience you captured it from behind the grabs the eye...kind like Renoir!! F/L.

Pete Edmunds replied:

Thanks so much for your wonderful feedback Clotilde. I'll be surfing onto some Renior paintings today to see the reference:) Like many street shots there's always a slice of luck - I'm so pleased one cook turned towards me to show the striped apron. Another fun oddity I noticed is that while the character in the middle is looking down at the food - her animal hat is looking up at the menu/prices - that's what I call multitasking!

Awesome street photography Pete! Your timing and composition is perfect! L/F

Pete Edmunds replied:
