Pentium computer chip. Light micrograph of the surface of a Pentium chip from a computer. This integrated circuit has been made by imprinting microscopic, electronic components onto the surface of a wafer of silicon. Integrated circuits can be made much smaller than non- integrated circuits which consist of separate components. Pentium chip's are manufactured by Intel, which in 1997 is one of the world's leading computer chip manufacturers. Magnification x10 at 5x7cm size. Magnification x 13 at 6x9cm size.
