Description:
Fabulous impressionist oil on board by listed Italian artist Francesco Tammaro, Late 20th C. See also "Picnic on a River"
Francesco Tammaro was born in Napes in 1939 where he attended the School of Art. He is a valued and appreciated teacher of art education who has the capacity of awakening in his students the love of an art which seems to be disappearing, suffocated by superficiality and abstraction. He was nominated "Academician of Italy" in 1978 and awarded a gold medal by the Academy of Italy of Salsomaggiore. This academy also dedicated an entire color page to him in the "Great Dictionary of Contemporary Italian Artists." In the same year, one of his oil paintings, a 50x60 cm, entitled "The Farmer's House" was sold at auction in New York for $10,000.00. In 1980 he staged a one-man exhibition in Broadway which was a great success with both critics and the public. During his artistic career he has participated in many cultural events and has held collective and one-man exhibitions in the most important art-center cities in Italy: Florence, Rome, Siena, Venice, and Assisi. He has also participated in collective exhibitions abroad: Paris, London, Helsinki, and Vienna.
