Description
I was, I admit, mesmerized by the colorful pinatas that hung across the intersections of streets when I was in Oaxaca, Mexico, over the festive period following Christmas.
It was definitely a flavor of life in Mexico and of the holiday period there. And if you wander through you'll find this is hardly the only one of my images to feature those beautiful and large pinatas.
But like the pinatas each image has its own flavor. In this one, I love how much of the scene is blue, for the old building on the corner to the bluest skies above. While the street and the child crossing are in earth tones. But not the Pinata, it's a rainbow of color that jumps out!
Ah, this calls me back to the streets of Oaxaca. I want to roam there again some day. Any time would do, but there's a side of me that really wants to see and photograph those pinatas again, you know?
