Placer Gold Mining C. 1889
Photograph - Black & White
Old time gold miners Lamb, Dillon, and Spriggs work a Sluice Box in the gold fields near Rockerville, South Dakota in 1889. Although hard work, Placer Mining by Sluice Box was easier than other methods of mining, so it was preferred by the miners of the 19th century.
