Plein Air Of The Eel After Alfred Sisley
Painting - Acrylic On 125 Lb Archival Cotton Paper Wood Panel
Plein air on the Eel river. I love the impressionist's take on the world of color. Alfred Sisley of late has interested me. I began with and under-painting of medium gray washed over with a sienna and red. My palette was: Paynes gray,Tit. white, Yellow ocher ,pthalo-green, pthalo blue and red light. I started wit a charcoal drawing of the basic color shapes and an approximation of a view through the trees to the Eel and the plowed field beyond. Trees were first with a varying mixture of grays from the above RGB colors and white. after this I sort of truned off my mind and looked at the water and sky and enjoyed them for their sparkling intensity. Two hours later I signed my name.
