This guy never gets run off, panhandles with his hat, he has some sort of deal with the police. I am trying to draw the vendors and the people waiting for their rides, he screams at everyone to give him money, and he calls women obscene names, at ear shattering volumes. The security guard asked me to call the police, he explained that when he calls the cops they don't do anything. I figured it might be better to tell the panhandler that I was on my way to the pay phone to call the cops, and, that actually worked. I can be very caustic. I never back down, not even when a cop pulls a gun on me. One time, I took the gun and gave the cop a peice of my mind before I gave it back to him. Cops are basically cowards, so are bullies. It's not fun to have to stand up for your civil rights, but if you don't who will? Certainly not the courts, they side with the cops, and call you a 'rambling confused panhandler,' and they arrest you, so that their rackets can prevail. It's not easy being an artist! No one ever said it would be.
