Description
Another dahlia in my series of floral watercolor paintings, this one was found at the Point Defiance Dahlia and Rose Garden in Tacoma, Washington. I haven't had as much time to paint lately so I went for a bit of a looser feel and utilized the time I had efficiently. The piece took about 2.5 hours to complete and is 10"x13.5" in size. Even though it isn't quite as refined as several of the others in this series of paintings, there is something that I really like about this one. I used a combination of Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint, Daniel Smith watercolor paint, and Winsor & Newton watercolor paint on Arches 140# paper.

Thank you Sibby! This isn't one of my favorites but I still liked it enough to post it!

Thank you Marsha! That is exactly the direction I wanted to head with this! Areas of the piece lean toward several different painting styles. Thanks for taking a look!
