Pokagon State Park Beach
Photograph - Photography, Photograph
This image was taken at sunrise in October of 2013. Fog was lifting off the calm cool waters, the sky was lit in a bright magenta tone while the shoreline remained dark and the forest was silhouetted with a hint of autumn colors.
Pokagon State Park is in the Northeast corner of Indiana approximately 1.5 miles south of Michigan and 7 miles west of Ohio. The park is nearly a peninsula with Lake James Lower, Middle and Upper Basins on the southeastern and eastern borders and Snow Lake on the northwestern border. In addition there are connecting channels to Big and Little Otter lakes plus Jimmerson Lake. It is a beautiful park attracting thousands each year. It is open year round with Indiana's only frozen toboggan run.
