Description:
This portrait was a donation to a family supporting the charitable events for the March of Dimes. While I was working on this portrait I really tried to connect to the children and embody their apparent bond through my artwork. I didn’t forget to include a single delicate flower visible on the shirts of the two girls nor a fold of fabric portrayed on the boy’s clothing. As you examine the depiction of their clothing it holds a sense that you could reach out and touch the soft fabric of a sleeve. You will be able to notice the tiny fingernails on each child’s hands and even to perceive beyond a drawing, the soft feeling that the girl’s wispy hair seams to have. There is a look of innocence, joy and a protective nature that shows through the eyes of the children that I display in my drawing. I also feel that part of the captivation comes from the darkness I created that surrounds the lightness of the children, to truly showcase them.
