Automated machines that can now produce thousands of items at the push of a button, simply were not available. Men produced or repaired parts with simple hand tools like hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills and so forth. Today these devices are typically operated by compressed air, hydraulics, batteries or electricity that does most of the work for you. But way back in the old days, men built and fixed things in small work shops. On sturdy wood benches illuminated by light from a nearby window they only used their skills, hands and muscles to ...
