I finished this piece a couple of days ago, but had to wait for an overcast day to take some photos outside in natural light. If its too sunny, or I try to light my work with artificial light I get weird shadows etc... and things don't look right.
I decided to call him "Professor Griswald Goes to Class" because when I lived in Paris during my second year of university I used to walk everyday from my apartment in the 13th arrondisment to my schoool that luckily enough was just minutes from the Eiffel Tower. On my way there, flying past me in a blur of wool gabardine, this crazy professor (that's what I figured he must be!) on roller blades would blow by with his briefcase in one hand, and his bag lunch in the other, tie flapping like some demented snake out in front of him. It is this kind of attitude that I always loved about the parisians, their sense of play, fun and freedom. I could go back their in a minute!
