Description:

This is one of the few truly political pieces that I have painted. It is meant to deal with the whole interaction of the concepts of protection and isolation. We can certainly protect ourselves by shutting out the world, but then we find out that we are all alone, and the question becomes whether survival in those circumstances is worth the cost. Artistically, this is done in a very heavy texture, with stylized figures in side of enclosed circles. The original of this piece is available at my gallery. Contact me for specifics.
