Racing To The Fishing Grounds
FAA WATERCOLOR MARK DOES NOT APPEAR ON FINAL SALES
After leaving Oceanside, New York located on the south shore of Long Island on a charter fishing boat for some striper and blackfish fishing. We were heading for the fishing grounds in New Jersey to start off our day for some striper fishing and then move onto the Far Rockaways to locate some wrecks and go after some Blackfish who are famous for feeding on the bottom fish who swim in and out of the wrecks at the bottom of the oceans. The captain looking to make good time opened up the throttles full and we began to fly. With the waves flying in the background and forming that white water I saw a great photo opportunity. I laid down on the deck of the boat and counted how many seconds went by as the waves were crashing over the stern of the boat. Every 8 seconds a wave of white water was coming over the back of the boat, so I grabbed my camera made sure I had to fishing poles and the fishing net along with the sun rising between the poles and waited for the next wave and like clock work it flew over the stern and with my camera set on shudder speed I was able to capture this shot with everything in it, from poles, fishing net, sunrising and waves crashing over the stern of the boat.
