Description
I frequently see hawks, with Redtails being the most common. I wanted to simply paint a nice portrait that depicted its intensity and color. Redtails, to me, have the most varied coloration depending on the lighting. At times their back and head is almost black and in bright light, one can almost see a bright golden halo glowing about it. Redtail hawks are the blue-collar birds of prey. They are not the biggest, fastest or the most popular, but you always see them, going about their work. This painting was selected as the 2007 Prince Edward Island Canadian Conservation Stamp.
