An overcast day, early spring, before the official opening of the Augustus Saint-Gaudens National historic site in Cornish, New Hampshire. Just me and the maintainace crews bustling about trying to get the park ready for its opening. Not that there is much of a crowd here even in the summer as the park is a rather hidden gem that few seem to have discovered. For this shot I was attracted to the bright red stucco wall and this dark green cane seated chair. I framed the shot with a book cover in mind with plenty of copy space a the top. Chairs always make good subjects and often take the place of people in artwork. You can always imagine someone sitting in their favorite chair even if they are no longer around.
