Rim Canyon Ride
Painting - Acrylic
First Place win in Cowboys and Horses Paintings contest.
I wanted to evoke a peaceful, relaxing feeling of a casual ride through the canyon just after the sun came up.
This is an imaginary place in my mind but reflects the type of red rocks
and mountain scenery in Arizona.
I felt this would be two young cowboys taking a morning ride down through the canyon and hesitating long enough to give their horses a drink
and let them rest for a bit.
I picture this as a possibility in the Mogollon Rim in the Coconino National Forest area of Arizona.
This might be north of the Payson area in the deep wilderness
that is the most awesome beauty in the state.
This could even be near the area where the Western author, Zane Grey,
had his cabin where he created so many great stories.
