Description:

The image is of one of my favorite places, Big Bend National Park. This section of the park is the Hot Springs area where there is a wonderful vista of both the mountains in the distance and the river winding through. Note the wide sand bar, very typical of the river when it's low and it's low except after spring rains. The greenery is river cane found along most of the rivers edge except in the steep walled canyons.
