Description:

This piece is centered on our origins, meaning BEFORE the fall, and I don�t mean in a religious sense. Thoughts about our arrival into this physical manifestation have occupied me for a long time.
When I turned the painting horizontally, I saw what the piece had always wanted to be: a river. So I went with that concept, built up the darks, built up the structures around the river�some delicate, some unfathomable, like unknown crafts.
Now the piece has its place in the scheme of things. Not only does it express my concept of the river of forgetfulness and how we enter this world without memory, but it also is a dramatic statement in imagery and color.
