Rocky Mountain Sunset
Painting - Manipulated, Enhaced Photograph
This is a view facing west toward the Rocky Mountains from a place called Nose Hill in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It was a very cold day in the middle of winter and the sun was setting. I love the sky in this part of the world: it's huge and filled with color and always changing. The legend is that this place got its name because our First Nations people once used this site a very long time ago to punish adulterers by taking off their noses here (I hope it's just a legend).
