Drawing - Graphite On Bristol
I started this drawing a few months ago when I went on a trip with my family. I realized that it had been forever since I'd done a good, old-fashioned, insanely detailed graphite drawing (what can I say, drawing on a Bamboo is addictive) and I found this picture and couldn't pass up the chance to recreate it. I discovered the Andy Griffith Show on Netflix not too long ago, and I don't think it even took a full episode to make me fall in love with it. This is taken from the episode "The Haunted House," where Opie and his friend accidentally throw a baseball into an old abandoned house that is supposedly haunted and are too afraid to go and get it. So naturally, Andy, Barney, and Gomer eventually end up exploring the house (Barney and Gomer reluctantly) and react hilariously to the "evidence" that proves the house is haunted. In the end, they find out that the spooky goings on are really due to an old moonshiner hiding out in the house, (something Andy's suspected all along) and the tables are turned. It was a really fun picture to draw, especially with both of their expressions! These two definitely made this episode one of the funniest in the whole series.
