Second Chakra Swadhisthana Sacrum Detail
Sculpture - Carved Limestone, Forged Steel, Tile Cutain
This is a detail of the fountain, with the addition of a tile curtain that drips with water. The curtain was added to feminize the original very male looking sculpture. It stands 7 ft in height with water distributed over the surface of the sacrum shaped portion by forged steel clinker grinders from a furnace.
The water flow is regulated through 40 lines of vinyl tubing behind from a pump hidden in a reservoir below the black pedestal.
The second chakra is located in the sacrum and is considered to correspond to the testes or the ovaries that produce the various sex hormones involved in the reproductive cycle.
Swadisthana is also considered to be related to the genitourinary system.
The key issues involving Swadisthana are relationships, violence, addictions, basic emotional needs, and pleasure.
Physically, Swadisthana governs reproduction, mentally it governs creativity, emotionally it governs joy, and spiritually it governs enthusiasm.
