Another painting of the Wonders of the Geological formations in the Sedona area. In the distance is seen Cathedral Rock, overseeing Cathedral Rock State Park, one of the most well known, probably Bell Rock is almost as popular tourist attraction just north of the Village of Oak Creek, Arizona, south of Sedona in Yavapai County. Its summit elevation is 4816 ft. But there are much higher formations around Sedona, many at or over 6000 feet. But Bell Rock is not the only interesting formation in Sedona Geologically, everywhere you look you see interesting shapes in the sedimentary rock of the Permian Supai Formation. Some New Age writers consider several areas of Sedona to be a portal into the Earth or a gateway to other dimensions. Boynston Canyon is another of the Vortex centers
Big Park, the pioneers' name for the large open area that became the Village of Oak Creek in the early 1960s, is set among scenic red-rock buttes and canyons. The Bell Rock scenic area adjoins the north end, and the town is surrounded by the Coconino National Forest. A Forest Service Visitor Center is located at the south end.
Digital painting is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques used in watercolor, oils, impasto, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer and Simulated Brushes which leave tracks much like camelshair or sable and bristle brushes. A virtual canvas and painting box with a large amount of brushes, colors and other supplies. The box contains many instruments that do not exist outside the computer, which give a digital artwork a different look and feel from an artwork that is made the traditional way. When you paint manually as many do, it takes as much time or more to complete the work in a computer.
