This painting was painted shortly after 9-1-1. While others were painting violent frenzied paintings, I chose to paint this tranquil scene to reflect my thought that there was still peace to be found in our world despite the fact that we are in mourning (note the flag at half mast) and unclear about our future (clouds in the sky).
