Shark Island, North Carolina
As we were flying over Shackleford Banks and Cape Lookout, North Carolina area in 2010, this particular island was termed "Shark Island" by the pilot. I don't know if this island or sandbar still exists today, but it struck me as a particularly interesting visual piece. Upon looking at the high resolution image, you can see people that have traveled there by boat to fish. On this flyover, we didn't see any sharks, but we did see many bottle-nose dolphins.
So, is this really Shark Island, North Carolina? And does the island still exist today? We'll have to find out on the next flight.
There are many other aerials in my "Coastal Aerial" gallery, in which Topsail Island, North Carolina seems to be the shining feature and most popular among art collectors.
