Description:
Based on the description of New Jerusalem in the book of Revelation, chapters 21 & 22, I chose to paint this on a square canvas. The three circles at the bottom represent not only the turning globe of the new earth, but three gates on one side of the city. The gates are not described as round, but pearlescent, and so I used the idea of them as pearls. At the upper edge is the shimmer of gemstones such as will make up the twelve foundations of the city. And in the center is the glory of God, shimmering light waves that will over and through everything and everybody in the city, providing a living and loving light.
