Shell Impresion II
Painting - Oil On Canvas
This is a beautiful impressionistic oil painting I did recently in the tropical paradise of Sanibel Island in the Gulf of Mexico. I gathered up a wonderful array of shells, arranged them in an interesting fashion and then began to paint. There are so many rich beautiful colors I used: blue, cerulean, red, pink, violet, green. I kept things loose, rather abstract, so the viewer could perhaps reminisce about a trip they had taken to the tropics, a vacation filled with good feelings and warmth. Searching for seashells is a peaceful experience, and I saw a lot of children and women scooping them up, but men seem to like catching the fighting conch shells as well! I hope you like what I created from my summer trip.
