Description
Shooting star flowers are in the genus dodecathon. These flowers are characterized by having the stamens thrust out, with the sepals bent back. They are native to North America and northeastern Siberia. I shot this flower at the edge of a prairie in the Owen Conservation Park in Madison, Wisconsin.
