Description
Shoulder joint anatomy. Artwork of the bones (yellow) and ligaments (blue) of the shoulder and pectoral girdle, as seen from the front. The sternum (breastbone) is at left, with rib cartilage (blue) on either side. Above that is the sternoclavicular joint where the sternum articulates with the two clavicles (collar bones). At upper right is one of the shoulder (glenohumeral) joints, with the clavicle resting on the scapula (shoulder blade), and the scapula articulating with the humerus (upper arm bone). A vein (bright blue) is also shown.
