This place is very special to me. This shrimp dockyard (the only one open to public in South Carolina) is where some of the most memorable Forrest Gump movie scenes where shot, like Lt. Dan tries "his sea legs" and then makes peace with God...

The fact that Port Royal is the 1st settlement in the new world (predating Jamestown by 45 years and St. Augustine by 3 years) is an extra magic bonus!
