Thanks Randy. :) To be honest, I haven't seen much sibling rivalry, but maybe that's because the parents do separate them (classic good-parenting technique). It does seem that each chick follows one particular parent when feeding or going to the pond for a drink.

OOOH! Ouch! Another grand capture. Not sure how true this actually is, but was told by a DNR rep, once that if there are two chicks, the parents quite often separate them and you will see one with the father and one with the mother, as they fight for pecking order, and may even kill their siblings. Have heard it a couple of times, but again not 100 percent sure how true it is. This looks more like play time to me, but definitely one appears in a submissive position. I enjoy viewing your variety of captures of these unique and fun to watch birds, Carol. Thanks much for sharing!
