Drawing - Ink On Paper
Pigment ink and archival art marker on drawing paper (acid free). The marker was applied to the back side of the paper to create a soft bleed-through effect, almost like a watercolor wash. The black ink lines were applied where the marker ink had bled through, relating to but not quite tracing the patterns created in color.
A drawing/study in my “tree of life” series. Persistent landmarks anchor our stories and shared experiences across generations. Some of the oldest and longest-lived lifeforms on the planet are trees. While apparently inanimate, their living changeable nature can bear silent witness to human activities and change, even as they grow, change and age imperceptibly year by year.
