Some rube will no doubt question the artistry or value of this macabre piece. But I'd insist he was wrong. After all, a man gave his life for it! From whence this poor soul came I do not know. Nor do I know how he met this fate, though probably through some horrific agony of war. We first met at a Civil War exhibit held at the historic Forest Lawn Cemetery, in Buffalo, NY. Given the surroundings, I'd venture he'd been in that box nearly 150 years. Since he'd made the effort to come, even at his advanced age, I felt obliged to at least take his photo. I must admit that his surroundings were a bit less colorful when I snapped the shot. (Burlap brown seldom advances any art sales). So I decided to spice him up with a bit of color. I'd think he'd like what I've done with the place. If I should ever see him again, I'll show him the finished photo. You of course don't have to wait. Take it home now - and see if you don't surprise your guests with this unique piece of art.
