This beautiful Calico Cat has tan, orange, black, yellow, and white which I had never seen before. At first I thought she was a Tortoiseshell but a few vets set me straight as a coat pattern that consist of large patches of white any where on the body mixed with other colors makes a cat a Calico and they are most often female. There are some male Calico's and they are rare. "Tortoiseshell" is typically reserved for cats with brindled coats with relatively few or no white markings. This cat has a white underbelly and tan is a mutation of white.
