Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
For my collectors in Japan I created a series of fantastical landscapes. The Japanese love to imagine scenes that are beyond the real. The mountain backdrop is painted entirely with a palette knife. The trees and snowy foreground are painted with a 2" brush finished with a #6 bristle brush. In Japanese imagery, they respond to the compositions of multiple planes. In this composition you should be able to find 9 points of dimension. Therefore like in a Japanese rice paper scroll painting you can see the illusion of dramatic dimension.
