Sonoma Coast. The Sonoma Coast in Northern California is a rugged rural stretch of shoreline north of San Francisco roughly an hour north of San Francisco. The water off the coast is cold and many of the days are cold also.
Many of the days start out with a blanket of fog along the coast. On a good day this fog burns off around noon and stays out to sea for 4 to 5 hours. On a really good day the sun will burn off earlier and stay out till sundown. These are not common but treasures that should be cherished.
This image was captured on one of those days. We had spent the day at the beach letting the dogs run. As the sun started going down and the temperatures started to drop we packed up and started for the car. Up near the parking lot I turned to see where the dogs were at and saw this scene unfolding in front of me.
