Description:

The gorgeous lampwork beads featured in this necklace are made by a really, really nice Canadian lady named Erica Olsen, who torches at her studio in Kelowna, British Columbia. These beads inspired me to try working with some heavy sterling wire… something about her clean, crisp scrollwork on the soft ivory background reminds me of a time several centuries ago... and it just seemed right to at least get some hand-forged silverwork in here. Ha! So I broke out the 14g wire and hammered me up a few spikes. Created with: Lampwork Glass Beads (~15mm across the front): Created by melting various colored glass in a torch and manipulating the molten glass around a metal rod then baking the bead in a kiln for a long-lasting, durable piece of art; we spend a lot of time looking for some of the most unique lampwork and then only buy the highest quality. Bali Silver (.925): Hand-decorated sterling beads crafted by Balinese silversmith artisans. It has taken me a few years of research and trial and error, but I have finally found a few suppliers of the absolute BEST quality Bali silver ever. Look around, compare for yourself… Then look at the beads in Laura Bracken jewelry. When I say "The Difference is in the Details", it could almost solely refer to the Bali beads I use; they are phenomenal, put together with meticulous care, never sloppy or gunky… they are true miniature works of art and I couldn't be more proud to work with these fine silversmith artisan families. Sterling Silver: All our silver jewelry pieces are sterling or higher (Hill Tribe Silver is pure silver, higher silver content than sterling), including all accents and findings. We never used plated or any of the lower quality or fake silvers (German Silver, Silver Fill, Nickel Silver, Alpaca Silver, etc). The size of the necklace adjusts from 15½ to 17½ inches (interior). Our one-of-a-kind designs are not repeated.
