Description:

Soft oil pastel painting using Photoshop CS6 with its many brushes. The fast moving little creek is in Oak Canyon Park in Anaheim Hills, California, and I ended up wet quite a bit in trying to jump over it--it was either that or walk back 3 miles... so I jumped... The creek is in the middle of an Oak Tree forest with little light falling on it, hence it was quite angry green albeit not too cold as I recall falling into it. :)

Why digital and not "real"? I am a "green" artist. I had my share of oil and tempera (my favorite mediums) for a number of years in my youth but as my children were born I realized how much toxic materials I am working with! I now paint nearly exclusively digitally. The effect is nearly the same without harming the environment as intensely as oil paint does. I also prefer to not kill trees if I don't have to. I hope you agree that art remains art regardless if digital or oil on canvas or paper.
