When it's late springtime here in the Bulkley Valley, British Columbia in Canada, the fields and roadsides are transformed with new bright green grass with thousands and thousands of yellow dandelions. They glow with their own light and although they are invasive weeds and not indigenous here, they provide a vital source of vitamin C to the wildlife like the deer and the bears who have woken up and are hungry.
I find it wonderful that most people do not mow these plants down in their gardens, but allow them to be part of a beautiful carpet instead.
Ted took this photograph in late April, with Hudson Bay Mountain still wearing its mantle of snow and the cottonwood trees in the centre had only been kissed with green :-)
