Hyacinth (Hyacinthaceae)
This springtime bulb grows wild in the Mediterranean, in its original colours of violet, blue and white. It was cultivated in the 16th century, and by the 19th century became as collectible as the tulip, and as highly prized.
The fragrance of the hyacinth is bold, and as hydroponic gardeners know, it can grow without soil.

A springtime favorite, these lusciously scented blooms are an announcement that spring is in full swing, and Easter is around the corner. If the best things can\'t be told, then perhaps through the sense of smell, they can be appreciated. I am very fond of their scent, and like to fill our rooms with their fresh, heady fragrance.

Your capture of these soft, velvety white trumpets is amazing, Connie! Such a lovely cascading composition filling the frame. A beautiful and welcome way to herald the arrival of Springtime!!! l/f/tw
