Description:

This is part of a series of "Native Stone" paintings based on small stones of the kinds that lie along foot paths just about everywhere. These I found on such paths in the Birmingham area, and just north of Birmingham in the Cheaha forest. The actual stones vary in size from about one inch to three. As I paint the stones I am always amazed at how much more there is to them than I can capture with my brush. The world is truly a wonderful place.
