Description
The name of this painting is Squiggly Tree. The tree has oval shaped bright green leaves representing any number of types of deciduous leaves that grow on trees in spring and summer. The medium used to create this piece is acrylics on paper with Indian ink to emphasis areas. It is in a folk style. . . . . . . . . . . . . The main purpose of the trees leaves is to produce photosynthesis; which equals to food or energy for the tree. One source of information likened it to leaves being like solar panels, where the broad side of the leaves faced the sun to capture the sun in the tiny cells. When the suns energy is captured it is photosynthesized and are helped by the Chlorophyll, which is what makes the leaves their green color. The chlorophyll changes the suns energy to sugars that are food for the tree. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Another key function of leaves is that they assist in cooling the tree down through what is called transpiration; this is similar to human sweating. The process of transpiration is water evaporating from the leaves with the same result humans have with sweating; the tree becomes cooled down.
