St Patrick Catholic Church is one of the colorful historic buildings in the old mining town of Silverton, Colorado, which is a designated National Historic Landmark District. The town is presently completely dependent on tourism.
The many buildings featured on the Reese Street tour include the Catholic and Congregational Churches along with the public school. The local Masonic Lodge met in various locations around the community until the completion of the permanent meeting hall in 1893. Constructed a decade earlier, the first story of the structure housed the San Juan Herald newspaper while the second floor served as the men's club. At 1111 Reese, visitors find the Silverton Public Library. Built in 1906, the ornate interior of the library remains largely original and once featured space for the men's club and men's reading room.
