Looking for a statement piece? This is it! This gorgeous handcrafted pendant was made with a colorful titanium quartz druzy, wrapped in tinned copper wire and features recycled stainless steel watch parts, a genuine Swarovski crystal, antique silver beads and delicate chain accents. The wire will darken with age, thus increasing the intensity of color contrast between the vivid colors of the druzy and the wire in which it is wrapped. This pendant, measures 61x42x19mm (2.4" x 1.7" x 0.8") and comes suspended on an 18"-long dark silver-plated chain which, closes with a lobster-claw clasp. This is truly a one-of-a-kind piece, since each and every crystal cluster is unique and it was wrapped to echo the dimensions and morphology of the stone. What a conversation piece!
Druzys occur naturally as tiny crystals on a matrix surface (most often as agates) and their sparkle makes them highly sought after by jewelry artists and collectors alike. While they are beautiful in their natural state, druzys may be enhanced by a process called chemical vapor disposition (CVD), in which the crystals are exposed, in a vacuum chamber, to a titanium-containing gas which bonds to the surface of the mineral and yields vivid, prismatic colors, as shown in this pendant.
