Go off on tangents, Diane. That's the stuff creativity,in my opinion, is born from. And yes, I totatlly understand the wine, dog/cat hair and anything else that else in my environment at the time I'm creating a piece getting serendipitously invovled. For instance, I actually incorported organic mulberry juice from actual mulberries in the painting as well as applied a Bic lighter to parts of the canvas to achive a "scorched" effect. I also painted my lips with red acrylic paint to apply the "kiss" to the biohazard symbol. Yes, I kissed the canvas.

Bravo, Diane!! Pollock-esque in scope LOVE it (and love Pollock). CHEERS!!!

Diane Clement replied:

Have to be honest Chad, the 1st time I threw paint was on a basement wall, when I was 14 (I'm 58 today). At that time, I had no idea who Pollock was...and didn't really know forever. So many people compared me to him that I went to NY to see a piece. I get it. It's about the process. It's always about the process. I don't smoke, but there is plenty of beer, wine, dog hair, leaves, whatever gets into the work, in the work. Those paintings are produced during a freeing moment in your day/life. It's about painting, not about the public or what people think. Sorry, went off on a tangent there. Won't happen again, I promise.
