Stone Arch Bridge Dunstable
Painting - Watercolor On Paper
The Red Line is the former Nashua, Acton and Boston Railroad built in 1873. Now a beautiful trail for hiking and bicycling. The old rail trail passes over arch bridges built without mortar and sustained solely by expert shaping of its archstones. Block and tackle hoist were used to place the stones. In this rendition you see the calm river water reflecting the many colors of the greenery and stone. The arched bridge stonework is grey blue in color, surrounded by the rust color of fallen leaves. The flat land atop the bridge was the train tracks location.
