Beautiful, Don. The deep. almost black of the (ultramarine?) blue sky contrasts wonderfully with the emerald turquoise of the water and then the more sky blue sliver just beneath the distant pink haze peeking through on the horizon. With all the haphazard casual, broad strokes, the sudden smooth, keen edge of the eaves just beneath the crisp white roof, emphasizes order and relief amidst total chaos. A happy, fun, intriguing painting to look at.

Hi, it reminds me last summer when I was in Key West...and even after storm there was still great contrast of colors between ocean and sky...even I saw 2 small tornados...."nice work and subject"

Description:

This is one of the paintings done in the studio after the initial plein air piece done on location. Here I enhanced some of the colors, changed the composition a bit and stylized the sky and water shapes. This was the basic painting I transfered to the large oil.
